I thought this book was going to be one thing (a mystery, a thriller) and that is indeed the tone and set-up that I thought it had, but it ended up being neither of those things and the ending just completely fell flat for me. Juliet didn’t finish her PhD dissertation about Anne Sexton. The apprehension we feel on their behalf as inexperienced sailors permeates the reading experience. This is a book you FEEL.
